Overview
Color Page Connector is a pipeline bridge inside Resolve that passes the Fusion image to Color or the other way around, with no intermediate file. Advantage: no quality loss, float data preserved, a fast round trip.
Especially useful in workflows where the Fusion composite produces a result that a colorist must grade properly on the Color page, or the other way around.
Where to find this node
- Effects Library:
Tools > Resolve Connect > Color Page Connector - Often added automatically by Resolve when a clip has an open Fusion comp.
Fusion ↔ Color workflow
- Fusion → Color
- Compositing done on the Fusion page, result sent to the Color page for grading. Color receives the already composited result as its input.
- Color → Fusion (loop)
- If the grade changes, the impact is visible right away in Fusion through the connector. Allows fast iteration.
- Standard Resolve pipeline
- Edit → Fusion (compositing) → Color (grading) → Deliver. The connector links Fusion and Color without an intermediate render.
Setup
Fusion → Color workflow:
[Fusion page]
MediaIn → Compositing → MediaOut
↓
[Color page receives]
Fusion MediaOut becomes the input → Color grading → Deliver
Fusion consuming a Color grade:
[Color page: grade applied to the clip]
[Fusion page]
Color Page Connector → Additional compositing
→ MediaOut
(the compositing sees the already graded clip)
Full round trip:
Edit clip → Fusion page (compositing) ↔ Color Page Connector
↓
Color page (grading)

DeliverUse cases
- Standard broadcast pipeline - TV / web where the Fusion composite is then graded by a colorist on the Color page.
- VFX integration - 3D / VFX compositing in Fusion, then integration with a global balance in Color.
- Preview with the grade - work in Fusion with a preview of the applied Color grade = a WYSIWYG closer to the final result.
- Multi-pass workflow - some effects are better done in Fusion (technical compositing), others in Color (creative grading). The connector unifies both.
Tips
- Resolve Studio recommended - the Fusion + Color workflow takes full advantage of the Studio version (GPU acceleration, more capabilities).
- Transparent round trip - no intermediate file, data stays in memory. Always prefer this over export/re-import.
- Check the processing order - by default, Fusion → Color. But depending on the clip settings, it can be reversed. Check it in the Project Settings.
- Consistent color space - moving between Fusion ↔ Color preserves colors if color management is enabled. Otherwise there is a risk of mismatch.
- Performance - the Fusion ↔ Color link uses resources. A strong GPU is recommended for smooth playback.
