DaVinci Resolve plugin
Traces Lite for DaVinci Resolve
An arrow, a circle or dashed lines on your video, without opening Fusion. Free, on the Edit page of DaVinci Resolve.

DaVinci Resolve has no tool to draw an arrow: you go through Fusion, draw a mask, set its outline, then hack the arrowhead separately. Traces Lite does all of it in a single generator, with buttons.

What Traces Lite does
Pick a line, a curve, a circle or a rectangle, and move the points right on the image. At the start and the end, a flat or round cap, or a solid or open arrow. The stroke can also turn into dashes or dots.
To make it draw itself, two keyframes on "End" are enough: the arrowhead travels with the stroke.
- Drop the Traces Lite generator above your clip.
- Click a shape and the caps you want.
- Place the points on the image, set the thickness and the color.
What you need
DaVinci Resolve 21 or later, free or Studio.
Installs in two minutes: the .fuse file goes into the DaVinci Resolve Fuses folder, then double-click the .drfx file. The guide that comes with the plugin gives you the paths for Windows and Mac.
Want an arrow that draws itself without keyframes, a hand drawn stroke or neon? That's in Traces Pro.
